It still sounds like a DHCP problem for you James. It might be the DHCP Server on the router. But if your fix works that's great. Tom, this is one of the best fixes out there for machines with DHCP problems or network issues. Download and Run WinSockFix - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html .

I spent weeks trying to figure out what was happening. My internet was working fine, but not my e-mails. At the end of the day, it is NOT Norton, Outlook, your ISP, Windows Explorer, etc. It is simply your modem. Go and unplug it for a minuite, make sure your connections are tight, then plug it back in. That should fix the problem.

I have DHCP set and I am still having the same problem. I am having the problem on 64bit Vista machine running Outlook 2007 and on a 32 bit XP machine running Office 2003. The problem started last thursday on both machines. I have 3 pop email accounts with the same email host. On one of the accounts, I am getting some of the email, but not all. The machines and accounts have been set up for months without any problems.
