The other day while browsing the Internet I Found A Fix for a recent problem I was having. The issue is described as follows;

I was unable to install the Zune Software properly. After I downloaded the Zune Software, i received the message;

” The Zune software installation can’t continue until you’ve installed one or more required updates. Windows Update must be updated to run this program. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=101231 ”

The solution and description to this error is set out below;

If you have already tried to install Zune and had problems with the installation I suggest you download the Zune Removal Tool from http://remove-it.org/tools/unzoone

Download the following Zune Software from the Microsoft website here: Download Zune .

If this link is old then I recommend you search for the Zune Download Pack from within the Microsoft website.

1. In the dialog box that appears, click Run to start the installation process.
2. When you are prompted, type the name of the folder where the files will be extracted.
4. When the files are copied to the folder, open the folder, and then double-click Startzune.exe to install the Zune software. If this doesn’t work.., Go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the most recent updates.Then using a search engine, download these applications manually;- Download .NET Framework 2.0
- Download Microsoft Error Reporting
- Download XMLLite
- Download Windows Format SDK

(I feel there is no point in linking to these as they will be different for everyone)

Try the installation again.
