MS Access Error-You Do Not Have The Necessary Permission

Posted under Software by ifoundafix

The other day while browsing the Internet, I Found A Fix for a recent problem I was having. The issue is described as follows;

After upgrading one of my machines to Office 2007, I could not open an access database file that was shared over the network.

The solution and description to this error is set out below;

The reason is as follows; The current shortcut to the database has this target “”C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\MSACCESS.EXE“” “P:\\Network-Folder\Security.mdw””

You will need to modify the shortcut with a new target “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\MSACCESS.EXE” “P:\\Network-Folder\Security.mdw””

Note the only difference between the two is the fact that the local path to msaccess.exe is different in the newer version of office.

 I Hope you too have Found A Fix!
